About Oprah

Oprah K Oyugi is a Kenyan/NZ Screenwriter / Director whose goal is to share AUTHENTIC Kenyan and African to the world.

She has had the privilege of working on the high profile Netflix Original TV show Sense8 as a Production Assistant. The TV show is shot across 8 different countries, one of them being Kenya and she was on the production team through Ginger Ink Kenya. She enjoyed working with an international cast and crew.

She has also had the priviledge of working alongside professionals in the New Zealand film industry Including: Candelit Pictures NZ, Maxwell Currie & Tom Hern of 4knights film, Ande Schurr of Schurr Sounds and Anaïs Chaine photographer extraordinare. 

Her current main project is a Cooking Show called Serving Single. It's a show aimed at giving bachelors tips and tricks of how to save time and money in the kitchen through a fictional character, Eugine. The first episode was released on 18th January, 2016. Her Stageplay "But I Just Got Here" was featured at the Short & Sweet Festival in Sydney Australia on 13th-14th Feb, 2016. The play was directed and produced by the lovely Ren Thackham, an Award-winning Australia based Filmmaker. The play went through to the Wildcard finals in the Festival and emerged 3rd. She is currently in pre-production of her debut Feature Film, Brenda Ouma scheduled for production in November 2018.

In her other life she would be a: Musician or pilot.
